Cooking With Heart, Memory & Technique
Discover cooking classes that feel joyful and accessible, chef-led dining experiences that bring the heat and soul of my kitchen to your table, and food-art moments where flavour meets creativity. I cook from the heart, with imagination and instinct, and I love guiding people through dishes that are bold, bright, and rooted in West African and European flavours.
Join me, and let’s create something delicious together — one lesson, one plate, one burst of flavour at a time.
Where culture becomes cuisine, and every plate carries a story.
I am Chef Dumebi — a chef shaped by West African roots, a storyteller guided by flavour, and the creator behind Samantha’s Bistro and the Life Lab cooking club in London.
My journey began long before the chef’s coat.
Growing up in Lagos and London, then living in Accra and Lomé, I learned early that food carries memory. Yam pottage meant comfort. A grilled fish head meant patience. Sunday dodo meant joy.
These memories formed the flavour language I speak today — a blend of:
-
Lagos home-kitchen warmth
-
European refinement
-
Modern African creativity
-
And the intuition of a chef who cooks from experience
Today, I teach, cook, and create from London — sharing dishes and stories that honour West Africa while imagining its future.

Culinary Experiences
Everything I make is crafted to awaken the senses — rich stocks, bold spices, layers of heat, brightness, and comfort. Whether it’s a curated menu, a private dining moment, or a hands-on class, I bring dishes that feel warm, familiar, and full of surprise. Think vibrant sauces, slow-built flavour, fresh herbs, and that unmistakable Afro-European twist that makes you pause after the first bite.
